9/21/2023 0 Comments Destiny 2 lightfall revealPlayers will be working with Spider, Drifter, Mithrax, and boarding enemy spaceships for hunting down treasure in a season that Bungie calls a big adventure.ĭestiny 2 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia. The news likely won't be too surprising as Destiny 2 dataminers revealed a good chunk of season 18 and its upcoming content such as the return of Eramis, last seen in Beyond Light. In addition to Lightfall content, the Destiny 2 Showcase also confirmed Season of Plunder, which launches later today. Bungie later teased a new enemy class called Tormentors, who come directly from the Darkness pyramid ships, offering a new challenge for players to deal with. The Destiny 2 cinematic trailer shows off a Cabal variant called the Shadow Legion, who come with an all new armor set and abilities to help set them apart. Players will no doubt need these new Strand abilities as Calus and the Witness are bringing with them new enemy types to face off against. Weak in narrative content, it shows its best in perfecting the gaming experience, understood as that set of tools to fully enjoy the potential of our guardians. One of the biggest changes with Strand is the movement capabilities, which showcased a grappling hook style system allowing for swinging to different platforms. Destiny 2: Lightfall is an expansion with two opposing aspects, that can be seen as the mirror image of the previous The Witch Queen. Hunters gain a rope dart super, Titans gain area effect claws, and Warlocks have a sort of psychic barrage attack. As hinted at in an accidental artwork leak, Bungie calls the new Darkness powers as Strand that is more akin to an evolution of the psychic abilities players got access to in the Witch Queen expansion. One of the biggest reveals in this trailer is the new abilities used by the guardian team. However, it wouldn't be long until the familiar voice of Calus, former Cabal Emperor, loomed as the pyramid ships infiltrated the sky box. However, the expansion's initial reveal trailer held plenty of secrets which fans likely never saw coming.Īt the start of the trailer, Destiny 2 fans saw a massive city lit up in neon colors, which Bungie would later confirm to be located on Neptune. Recent Destiny 2 leaks and even some accidental reveals prior to the announcement started to give fans a picture of what sort of content the expansion could contain. Bungie’s decision to remove paid content from players only a few years after launch isn’t just controversial, it’s universally panned in the community. After all of the teases and excitement over the past few months, Bungie's highly anticipated Destiny 2 showcase finally revealed new details about the next expansion known as Lightfall. Forsaken, which is the expansion that launched in 2018, is currently not available in-game. We’re not currently sure if old content in the vault will be coming out anytime soon, but it seems like there’s a sentiment from Bungie to ensure that players can experience the MMO “from beginning to end.”Ī reason why I refuse to get into Destiny 2 is because I’m not caught up with the game’s expansions, and although I want to play them, it’s not possible at the moment. With the launch of Destiny 2: Lightfall comes an end to content vaulting. For people like me who don’t want to get caught up in the MMO-elements of the game and would rather just experience an awesome campaign, this promise is an exciting one. No one could forget Bungie’s incredible Halo campaigns, especially the fun of playing them on legendary difficulty or LASO (Legendary All Skulls On). Now it’s time to shake things up again with the launch of Destiny 2: Lightfall on February 28th, with its new cyberpunk world, new Strand subclasses, and much more.
